Vacuum Cleaner Assistive Attachment for Prosthetic Users

Vacuum Cleaner Assistive Attachment for Prosthetic Users - open-source assistive technology prototype by the TOM Israel community community

The challenge

Cordless stick vacuums are heavy and hard to maneuver with a prosthesis. A solution is needed to enable easy handling and full operation while taking the load off from both arms.

Who it helps

Individuals using upper limb prosthetics, and those with lifting restrictions.

How it works

The solution simplifies maneuvering the vacuum and performing the vacuuming task with one hand, by transferring the vacuum's weight to the user's body and facilitating easy maneuvering using custom-made handles.

A wearable solution allowing for comfortable use of a cordless stick vacuum, using custom-made handles.
