Wheelchair Cupholder/Phone Attachment

Wheelchair Cupholder/Phone Attachment - open-source assistive technology working model by the Georgia Tech community

The challenge

Currently, Max has to balance items like a phone or drink on his lap while driving his wheelchair.

Who it helps

This solution is designed for wheelchair users with limited arm mobility—particularly individuals with Arthrogryposis or similar conditions—who need a stable, accessible place to hold everyday items like a phone or drink while driving their wheelchair.

How it works

This attachment provides a secure, hands-free storage option that improves accessibility and independence.

A 3-D printed attachment that slides into his wheelchair's built-in rail—complete with a cup-holder and slot for his phone.

Tools needed
