Amorphous keyboard

Amorphous keyboard - open-source assistive technology prototype by the 2021 TOM Global Innovation Challenge (GIC) community

About this project

Our solution is a customizable acrylic board to suit any type of hand

position and tackle the problem of WASD (keyboard controls) with a joystick.

We laser cut the acrylic board with accurate measurements to easily

fit the switches and joystick. The electronics is a simple keyboard

matrics that can be easily stored in a case.

The challenge

Timothy finds it hard to game, especially when there are many keys.

Who it helps

Our Need-Knower is Timothy Chan who has muscular dystrophy.

Timothy finds it hard to game, especially when there are many keys.

He wants to play games like Fifa but happens to be restricted as he

has to use two hands just to move forward, back, left and right.

How it works

Amorphous keyboard is one of the participating projects of the 2021 Global Innovation Challenge.

You can learn more about the challenge on the GIC website or browse the projects on the GIC community page .
