Clothes Hanger for a person in a wheelchair

Clothes Hanger for a person in a wheelchair - open-source assistive technology prototype by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

A person in a wheelchair cannot reach the clothes on the high shelves in the closet and of course cannot return them. The person in the wheelchair cannot be independent, and this is a basic thing he need to do every day.

How it works

Taking a garment out of the closet is a basic, everyday task, and people in wheelchairs are limited in terms of the height they can reach. The product allows to increase it and instead of a pile, take out one garment at a time in an easy & comfortable way.

A hanger for every garment that is worn on the shelf in the closet.

The rack includes a handle and it hangs on the shelf itself and stabilizes itself by 2 bent metal rods, which are welded to a central metal rod.
