Snap-on off-road wheel covers for wheelchair users, providing independence, quick setup, and improved traction on rough or muddy terrain. Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who want a safe and convenient solution for off-road mobility.
Existing solutions require Dr. Stran to be assisted in switching her regular wheelchair tires with another set specifically for offroading each time she went out. This product gives her independence in switching her tires, safely and quickly.
Dr. Stran is the Director of the Adapted Athletics faciltiy at UA. She often goes on outdoor trips and hikes with rough terrain. This product is for wheelchair users who would like "shoes" to cover their wheels on rough or muddy terrain.
By acting as "shoes" over a user's wheel, our product substitutes the need for switching out their current wheel for a specialized off-roading one, reduces the time it takes to prepare a wheelchair user for their next offroad adventure.
The product consists of a tire of similar size as the user's existing wheel, with ends that snap together around the wheel. The user will be able to attach and detach the product without assistance. The product can be easily stored for reuse.
