Hands-Free Bottle Opener

Hands-Free Bottle Opener - open-source assistive technology concept by the New Jersey Institute of Technology community

The challenge

Many people struggle with opening bottles and we are making this so those with limited hand strength can be more independent.

Who it helps

Riddhi struggles with dystonia which had made her hands weaker therefore making it hard for her to open bottles.

How it works

Our product will involve a button of some sort to activate the twisting motion of the clamp in order to open the bottle.

Our product is going to be a circular stand consisting of 2 clamps, one to hold the bottle in place and the other will twist the bottle cap open.
