Mobile Sensory Unit

Mobile Sensory Unit - open-source assistive technology concept by the Vanderbilt University community

About this project

This project is a mobile sensory unit for a Need Knower who requires constant stimulation. It will give the Need Knower access to toys, easy storage of toys, and sensory stimulus via visual lights and physical sensations as feedback.

The challenge

He needs to be stimulated in his everyday life, but the sensory toys he owns are all static. So, our team is making him a mobile unit that can produce all the stimulatory actions that he needs that is able to travel around with him.

Who it helps

Adam Harris is a 12 year old boy with little physical capabilities.
