Page Turner - - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Hadassah Academic College community

The challenge

Brina likes to read and draw. Due to multiple sclerosis, she is limited in the movement of her hands and cannot flip through a book independently.

The goal of the project is to allow her to move pages and paint with brushes with minimal effort

Who it helps

Briena suffers from multiple sclerosis that limits the movement of her limbs and holds her hand close to her chest without full range of motion.

How it works

The modular pole allows the hand to be supported on the chest in order to direct the forces of the hand in favor of a scrolling movement without wasting energy on holding the hand in the air.

A modular pole that is supported on the chest and allows with a light hand movement to move pages or draw.

At the end of the rod there is a head with an anti-slip surface for catching pages. The head is modular and can be changed as needed

Tools needed

PC or MAC I7 +
