Hands-Free Mouse

Hands-Free Mouse - open-source assistive technology prototype by the California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo community

The challenge

Sally has bilateral epicondylitis, otherwise known as tennis-elbow, which makes it hard for her to use her arms when working on the computer. The goal of our project is to create a system that allows her to click, scroll, and move the mouse cursor through

Who it helps

Individuals who are unable to use their arms/hands to click and scroll on their computer and have a computer that allows wired connections.

How it works

The base has two buttons for left and right click and a scroll wheel. The foot mouse behaves as a mouse does and moves the cursor. Both systems are integrated and communicate with the user's computer to carry out click, scroll, and cursor functions.

A system that allows the user to click, scroll, and move their mouse cursor all through the use of their feet.

Tools needed
