This is a standing arm supporter. It is an adaptive device that holds the hand at an angle to allow one to put on and take off clothes more efficiently. One of the main benefits of the device is increased user independence.
This solution was developed during the 2022 Abraham Accords Open Innovation Challenge.
It was designed for Nira Shahar, who is paralyzed on her left side of the body. This solution enables independence and accessibility in daily activities, particularly designed with the act of dressing in mind.

Nira is among millions of people around the world who suffered from a stroke and as a result is paralyzed on her left half of her body.
What
The solution we are offering is an adaptive device that supports an arm by holding the hand at an angle. This allows the user to dress and undress themselves independently.
Who
Our Need-Knower is Nira - who's among millions of people around the world who suffered from a stroke and as a result is paralyzed on the left half of her body.
Why
Nira struggles with dressing independently because she is paralyzed on the left side of the body.
A disability such as this is common among people who suffered from a stroke. Every year, 15 million people around the world experience a stroke and its affects.
How
Our solution enables independence and accessibility in daily activities, especially in the act of dressing. Many people are dependent on assistants just to get dressed and it severely compromises time, independence, and self-esteem.
