Yeison's arm support

Yeison's arm support - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Medellín community

About this project

The purpose of this prototype kit is to create solutions for everyday activities. One is the typing assistant, that allows Yeison to type with both hands. The second device is a bike helper that allows for his hand to attach to the handle bar.

The challenge

Due to a traffic accident Yeison had a brachial plexus injury on his arm. Because of the injury Yeison lost mobility in his arm. The challenge for the makers is to find a solution that allows Yeison to be able to use computing tools such as a mouse and keyboard at the same time to elaborate his designs. Yeison studies website design.

Who it helps

Yeison Torres is 31 years old and is a student. After a traffic accident he had an injury in his arm.
