The community was founded in 2017. The community manager is Andres Zuniga. After visiting Israel and learning about some of the educational projects there, Hector ran into TOM. Even though he did not get a chance to see it live, he did get a chance to see another Makeathon happening there. So when he got back to Colombia he continued to look into TOM and saw that it had everything that a teacher wants; A relevant leaning opportunity with a clear purpose where students could make perfect use of the skills they have with the technology available. So Hector presented the project to his school, The Columbus School, and once approved, started looking for allies to make TOM happen in Colombia. That is when he contacted the Universidad EIA and El Comité de Rehabilitación to plan their first TOM in 2017. After that, the team started to work and has not stopped working in their TOM community in Medellin.
