Milbat is a nonprofit public organization operating throughout Israel since 1981.
Our mission is to enable people with disabilities of all ages and the elderly to enjoy maximum independence by creating an adapted technological environment for them.
Milbat's staff - occupational, physio and speech therapists, and hundreds of volunteers -technology and design experts provide unique services:
1. Professional consultation to choose the most suitable device for each person's needs, while providing information on where to acquire it, as well as allowing the person to try out the device.
2. Development - In those cases where NO suitable commercial device is available, Milbat volunteers custom develop the required device: assistive devices, musical instruments, therapeutic instruments toys etc.
3. Share knowledge:
• We established the national web database "Azarim" on assistive devices from all over the world.
• We give lectures and workshops to students, professionals, ageing people, people with disabilities and family members.
• We hold educational programs for able body teen-agers to promote social and technical thinking.
