FetchBand

FetchBand - open-source assistive technology prototype by the California Polytechnic State University - San Luis Obispo community

The challenge

Many people want to get their students moving with other students. Due to their disabilities many are limited in what kind of activities they can do or want to participate in. A lot of these athletes do not have the ability to recollect balls once thrown.

Who it helps

People with mental or physical disabilities and want a device that enables them to move around and to have fun.

How it works

This solution is a very appealing to the students due to the ball attachments and colors. The device is also relatively easy to use due to how simple it is. This allows the user to play with the device any way they desire to, thus keeping them engaged.

A device that encourages a repeated throwing or kicking motion with an auto return function.
