Go Baby Go - Frances

Go Baby Go - Frances - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Vanderbilt University community

The challenge

Frances would like more independent mobility since she currently gets around with a "bum shuffle."

Who it helps

Frances is a 2-year-old with arteriovenous malformation. She had her first stroke on March 24th, leading to a loss of speech and mobility. She is still very socially motivated and loves switches and buttons.

How it works

By having an adapted ride-on car with an accessible "Go" button, Frances will have more independent mobility.

Our solution is an adapted ride-on car. The car will be electrically modified to add a "Go" button on the steering wheel and a kill switch on the back of the car. It will also be physically modified by adding a harness and other supports.
