Vending machine

Vending machine - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Georgia Tech community

The challenge

This project is needed to reinforce the principle of delayed gratification, encouraging users to plan and save when making spending decisions rather than seeking instant rewards.

Who it helps

Children, teenagers, or adults learning how to manage rewards, saving, and spending decisions.

How it works

The vending machine creates a structured system where Noah must make deliberate choices about when to spend or save tokens. This will help to develop decision-making skills and financial awareness in an engaging way.

A low-cost vending machine that operates with tokens provided by Noah F’s mother. The tokens are used to encourage saving, thoughtful spending, and delayed gratification.
